FPL GW27 Gameweek Roundup

A Gameweek of Surprises and Disappointments

Our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers have witnessed another electrifying week of football with surprise performances, expected triumphs, and unfortunate underperformers.

Players Who Ruled The Game

One of the top performers in this gameweek was Cucurella (7.11% ownership), who managed to hit the net (xG: 0.37) and amass an impressive tally of 15 points, thereby exceeding the expectations of mangagers.

The other player who stole the show was B.Fernandes. Owned by only 9.43% of FPL managers, Fernandes earned a healthy 10 points, mainly through his impressive 90 minutes stint.

High Ownership, Low Returns

M.Salah (72.41% ownership) and Palmer (61.22% ownership) were amongst the highly owned picks for this gameweek. However, both these players failed to find the back of the net, scoring 6 and 3 points respectively. Their performances this Gameweek left a lot on the plate for the managers who relied on them.

Similarly, Wood (44.31% ownership) and Mbeumo (40.32% ownership) failed to reward their high ownership, scoring only 2 and 5 points respectively.

Disciplinary Issues

Apart from regular performances, few players shined through with their disciplinary records as they failed to maintain a clean record. Robinson (25.81% ownership) picked up a yellow card and played only 18 minutes, yielding him no FPL points, much to the frustration of his owners.

Muñoz (10.47% ownership) and Milenković (7.82% ownership) also found themselves in the referee’s book, dampening their FPL score by a point.

The Underdogs

But not all was gloom and doom! Making a significant impact on the FPL points table, albeit owned by few managers, Kluivert (29.34% ownership), Gabriel (29.22% ownership), and Wissa (13.85% ownership) performed exceptionally well, scoring 10, 7, and 9 points respectively.

They’ve certainly raised eyebrows and might be prominent features in many FPL teams in the forthcoming weeks.

Mini-League Banter

While there were no red cards this week from highly owned players (Dorgu is 0.2% owned), plenty of unexpected performance made for great mini-league chatter. Managers owning Cucurella or B.Fernandes were the talk of the town, with their unexpected hauls, while those who captained Salah were left ruing what could’ve been.

Until next week, keep your tactics sharp, your chin up, and may your arrows be green! Let me know how you got on over on Instagram
